wow, thanks for putting that up. So encouraging to see a woman so well spoken and obviously committed to what we all know is right and just.

It's just such a basic right. It's ridiculous we're even having to debate this.

Wow, Steph - you weren't lying when you said the comments on ted are pretty crazy! I am always amazed at how ignorant people actually And what ever happened to using appropriate grammar? Sheesh! LOL ;-)

Did you know there are right wing groups that actually pay people to make comments like that? The idea is to both dominate the conversation, and to force liberals to focus all of their energies on arguing with these "straw dogs" rather than to join forces.

I don't think that the people funding it all really care one way or another about birth control, it's just another way to rile up the right and keep the conversation focused on these sorts of "social issues" so that people won't wake up and realize that the moneyed interests are screwing them over.

Apparently they often get paid based on the number of replies they generate, so they try to be as inflammatory as possible to generate a pile of replies and thereby dominate the conversation.

I'm not saying that all conservative comments out there are made by paid commenters, but enough of them are to make me VERY uneasy. Anyhow, from now on, my policy is to simply refuse to engage with these people, and if I feel that I must respond to ridiculous ideas being put forth on a forum or in the comment section of some article, I write my thoughts in a separate comment rather than replying to the idiots.

I think we need to take back the conversation!
