That was so freaky. I just am not comfortable with the mother pushing the boy forward. Obviously HE hasn't read the book.
But. Still. The shock on Bachmann's face...

Yeah, I had similar thoughts. But my kids would flat out cry if they didn't want to say something. Maybe he's more afraid of his mother than mine are of me. I guess I'm hopeful that it is something that he came up with on his own, but he just needed some encouragement. If the whole thing were the mother's idea, I would be less than pleased.

Yeah I first thought that, but when I watched again I think it was his idea that she was encouraging. Reminded me a lot of when I'd have students wanting to say things but being too shy.

The idea that mom seemed to be using the kid as a pawn makes me sad though...
